I am completely and utterly average…. said nobody ever.
But the reality of the matter is that the vast majority of the human population are, in fact, completely and utterly average.
You might be questioning my motive here. ‘Why the f*** would a life coach feed me with such words of discouragement?’ But listen up – I’m not here to put you on a pedestal, be your biggest cheerleader, or tell you you’re amaaaaaazing, babe. I’m here to challenge your perspective. So ask yourself this: what if being ordinary is more extraordinary than you think?
In a world obsessed with exceptionalism, we often overlook the beauty of our own average existence. We’re bombarded with messages telling us we can be anything, do anything, and achieve anything. It’s no wonder that reality falls short of expectation time and time again. Of course we can’t be anything. However, what we can be is ourselves, to the very core, to our very fullest. And that – to me, is something worth aspiring to.
You hear that? I only want to be the greatest version of myself.
So, let’s shift our perspective. Let’s celebrate the fact that we are, indeed, ordinary people. I’m not outstanding, superhuman, or exceptionally gifted. And you know what? That’s perfectly okay. In fact, it’s liberating.
Being average doesn’t mean we’re settling for less. It means we’re embracing the reality of who we are right now, without the pressure to constantly prove ourselves. We can break free from the relentless pursuit of perfection and find contentment in simply being.
So, dear reader, let’s revel in the here and now. Let’s find beauty in the mundane and magic in the ordinary. Let’s release ourselves from the shackles of unrealistic expectations and cherish all our experiences, no matter how normal.
As a life coach, my purpose is not to feed you empty promises of greatness, or persuade you to become someone you’re not. Instead, I encourage you to accept yourself as you are – wonderfully average and beautifully human. Together, let’s find fulfillment in our own version of extraordinary, without the need for comparison or self-doubt.
Remember, it’s not about reaching some mythical pinnacle of success; it’s about savouring every simple, fucking bite. So, let’s raise a delicious, buttery toast to the extraordinary in our ordinary lives. Cheers to being average and devouring every minute of it!
