In the grand scheme of things, the universe will not cease to exist without us.
After all, we are merely bundles of stardust that arrived on earth by the most unlikely and random of chances. After we inevitably die, life will most certainly go on. (Just not for us!)
This could be seen as deeply depressing. But on the more optimistic and much shinier flip side of the coin, we can choose to view this for what it really is, and that is somewhat of a miracle. A rare and incredible opportunity, against the odds, to live out the human experience for all its flaws, beauty, and insanity.
We didn’t choose to be here. But since we are – why not choose to find excitement, meaning, and value in our existence? It’s the chance of a lifetime. Literally.
