Breathe and use your senses
Use Your Sense (es)

In today’s world, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life and allow our thoughts to be ruled by the never-ending flow of information and responsibilities. But it’s important to remember that we are so much more than our intelligence, our careers, and our to-do lists. We are organic beings with the ability to experience the world through our senses.

Just Pause

By taking a moment to switch off our thoughts and tap into our senses, we can connect with the present moment and find gratitude for the beauty and simplicity of just being alive. This doesn’t mean we should neglect our growth and wisdom, but rather find a beautiful balance by incorporating moments of stillness into our daily lives. One way to do this is to simply take a few deep breaths and focus on the sensation of the air entering and leaving our bodies. We can also pay attention to the sounds and smells around us, or gaze out into the distance and allow our thoughts to melt away. By doing so, we can let go of the need to constantly think and analyse, and simply be in the now.

So next time you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, try forgetting your sense, so to speak, and instead, use your senses. They’re literally there to guide you.
